Tarangire National Park, located as the sixth largest national park and encompassing an area of 2600 km square, is noted for its vast herds of elephants and modest wildlife migration that happens during the drought, with over 250,000 animals entering the park.
The park is famous for its high count of elephants, baobab trees, and Tarangire River. Visitors of the park in the June to November dry season can expect to see large herds of thousands of zebra, wildebeest, and Cape buffalo. Other common resident animals include waterbucks, giraffes, dik-diks, impalas, gazelles, velvet monkeys, banded mongoose, and olive baboons.
Today you will drive to Tarangire for a full-day game drive. Famous for its large elephant population, it is also home to zebra, wildebeest, giraffe, waterbuck, baboons, & impala. The likes of predators like lions, cheetahs & leopards are a common sight too.
You will have a picnic lunch near Hippo Lake at noon.
Also residing in the park is the dazzling Tarangire River which is lined with acacia and Baobab Trees.
The name Serengeti translates to “endless plains” in the Maasai language. The park is undoubtedly one of the world’s most celebrated wilderness areas and is an ongoing source of inspiration to writers, filmmakers, and photographers.
For animal lovers, in the Serengeti, it is normal to spot four of the five big five animals which are lions, leopards, buffaloes, and elephants.
Experience a classic tented safari in soothing solitude and spectacular comfort, with only the canvas walls of your tent separating you from the wonders of the Serengeti.
The savannah of the Serengeti is also famous for the annual wildebeest migration where about a million of them trek across the beautiful landscape in search of fresh water and grass. It’s easy to track this migration, starting in the south(Ndutu region) from December through March before working its way through the Grumeti River (Western Serengeti) and up to the north from July to October. The spectacular Serengeti is a beautiful year-round destination and you don’t necessarily need to follow the migration to enjoy your trip it may sometimes be more captivating to avoid crowds for a more exclusive experience.
On day 4 you will wind up your day by exiting The Serengeti and heading towards the Ngorongoro highlands where you shall be accommodated for the night in preparation for your descent into the Crater.
Ngorongoro Conservation Area is in northern Tanzania. It’s home to the vast, volcanic Ngorongoro Crater and hosts the “big 5” game (elephant, lion, leopard, buffalo, rhino). Huge herds of wildebeests and zebras traverse its plains during their annual migration.
Early in the morning after breakfast, proceed directly to the Crater floor for a full-day crater tour (Hot lunch included).
The Ngorongoro crater is one of the few places in Tanzania where you are likely to see the endangered black rhino as a small population of them reside in this protected area. Many Flamingoes are also attracted to the soda waters of Lake Magadi.
The crater is about 600 meters deep and has a floor area of about 260 square kilometers thereby making it the largest dormant caldera in the world.
The most ideal time to visit Ngorongoro is from June to October during the dry season since it becomes easier to spot many animals during this season because there is less greenery.
Welcome to Lake Manyara National Park, widely known for its tree-climbing lions. The soda ash lake attracts thousands of pink flamingos and one of Tanzania’s largest elephants, as well as the breathtaking world.
Today you will visit Lake Manyara National Park for a full-day game drive. Stretching along the base of the Rift Valley it is home to giant fig trees, acacia woodlands, mahogany trees & grassy flood plains.
Lake Manyara serves as a delight to bird watchers as it provides to Tanzania’s bird life with more than 500 species being on display in various corners of the park but the most noticeable is the majestic pink flamingoes that prefer to spend their time basking by the lake itself.
Animals such as buffalo, wildebeests, giraffes, mongoose, dik-diks & zebra herds congregate on the grassy plains while the acacia woodland is home to the legendary tree-climbing lions & tusked elephants.
One of Tanzania’s smallest and most picturesque national parks is Arusha National Park which is only 37 kilometres from the center of Arusha. The park’s primary distinguishing characteristics include the Ngurdoto Crater (Little Ngorongoro Crater), Momela Lake, the highland montane forest, and Mountain Meru. The ability to combine game drives with other activities like walking safaris, canoeing, and horseback riding—all of which may be scheduled for an additional fee—is another one of this park’s distinctive attractions.
After being welcomed back to Arusha, in the morning you will begin your safari to Arusha National Park. The only location on the northern safari circuit where the acrobatic black-and-white colobus monkeys are easily observed is the entrance gate of Arusha National Park, which leads into the forest of populated blue monkeys, colorful turacos, and trogons.
The magnificent Ngurdoto Crater, surrounded by towering rocky cliffs and a broad, marshy bottom filled with herds of buffalo and warthog, is in the middle of the forest.
You may see Mount Meru while in Arusha National Park by spending roughly 2 to 3 hours walking close to it with an armed ranger who will be with you the entire time.
Although elephants are uncommon in Arusha National Park, and lions are absent altogether, leopards and spotted hyenas may be seen.
Depending on your flight time, we could utilize your last morning to fit in a final town tour. You will be picked up from your accommodations by your driver with the option of a drive around the town of your choice whether it’s Arusha or Moshi before ultimately being dropped off at the airport in time for your return flight, Bon Voyage.
